RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
2001-Present

Bladder Motion During External Beam Radiation Therapy. Supervisor: William U. Shipley, MD. Authored a DFCI IRB approved protocol to examine bladder motion using the BAT ultrasound in patients with bladder cancer being treated with external beam irradiation.

2002-Present

Prognostic Significance of Modifiable Bio-Markers in Esophageal Cancer Patients Treated with Multi-Modality Therapy. Supervisor: Christopher G. Willett, MD. Created tissue arrays to examine multiple modifiable biomarkers for prognostic significance in esophageal cancer patients treated with multi-modality therapy.

2003-Present

Role of Taxol in Trimodality Therapy for Esophageal Cancer. Supervisor: Noah C. Choi, MD. Authored IRB approved protocol allowing us to examine the outcomes of patients treated with Neoadjuvant Cisplatin, 5-FU, Taxol and Radiation versus Neoadjuvant Cisplatin, 5-FU and Radiation.

2001-2003

Radiation Dose Escalation in Limited-Stage Small-Cell Lung Cancer. Supervisor: Noah C. Choi, MD. Authored IRB approved protocol, which allowed us to examine the role of radiation dose escalation in limited-stage small-cell lung cancer.

1997-1998

Novel Approaches to Purging of Cancer Cells from Autologous Stem Cell Harvests. Supervisor: Kenneth Cowan MD, PhD. Developed novel adenoviral vectors in an effort to purge breast carcinoma cells from autologous stem cell harvests.

1995

Role of Fas in Gamma Irradiation Induced Apoptosis. Supervisor: Philip Cohen, MD. Demonstrated that defects in Fas in lpr mice resulted in radioresistance suggesting a potential role of Fas in radiation-induced apoptosis.

GRANTS
2003

Radiation Therapy Oncology Group Seed Grant
Prognostic significance of modifiable biomarkers in esophageal cancer patients treated with multi-modality therapy.
