Tell Us About Yourself

I was born and raised near Canton, Ohio. I attended the College of Wooster, a liberal arts college in northeastern Ohio, where I met my husband John. I then completed my medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio. After seeing snow in early May, my husband and I decided that perhaps we should head south. I completed an internship at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. It was during that year that I was first introduced to the field of radiation oncology. I completed my residency at Wake Forest University in 2003. I then joined the practice in Hickory where I have been now for 15 years.

Tell Us About Your Family

We have four teenage children; 16 year old twin daughters, and sons ages 15 and 13. Life is busy to say the least! In my spare time, I enjoy sailing on Lake Norman, golfing, and traveling. My ancestors came from Switzerland and our family had a chance to visit the beautiful country a few years ago.

What Motivates You In Your Field?

I find my career in radiation oncology to be rewarding and bring me balance. I enjoy the constantly changing technology and working in a field with such meaningful purpose. It is truly a privilege to participate in the care of oncology patients.
