“The OncLive summit was a great multidisciplinary gathering of thoracic surgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology that discussed current updates in the rapidly changing treatment of all stages of lung cancer, both non-small cell and small cell”, Dr. Heinzerling said. “I was honored to speak about various new technologies and treatments in radiotherapy for lung cancer including utilization of SBRT in stage II-III locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer, which is the subject of my national phase 3 clinical trial now open at several of our centers. I also highlighted proton therapy in treatment of lung cancer which will be available next summer.”
