We are proud of our physicians and all the fantastic work they do in our community. Over the next few months, we’ll be featuring interviews starting from our newest physician about life outside of the office.
This month, Christopher Corso, MD, Ph.D. is our October 2017 Physician of the Month. Dr. Corso has been with SERO since July 10, 2017.
My family consists of my wife of nine years, Mindi, who takes amazing care of our kids and home while also working as a photographer. My boys, Nicholas and Luca, are both in elementary school. We are animal lovers and have two dogs and two cats.
We enjoy being outdoors and are just starting to explore all the amazing activities Charlotte has to offer. We have enjoyed mountain biking at the Whitewater center, hiking at the Anne Close Springs Greenway, and spending time out on the lake. We try to exercise when possible and you can often find us at one of the great YMCAs around town.
I am a DIY kind of guy and enjoy spending time in the garage working on cars or building things. Before going into medicine, I was an engineer, which may explain things a bit. I am from Pittsburgh originally and am a huge Pittsburgh sports fan. I also enjoy playing Fantasy Football.
I worked selling tools at Sears Hardware when I turned 16. It was a great job.
I don’t spend much time watching TV, though I try to catch the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins when they are on. I did get hooked on Game of Thrones many years ago. It is definitely the best TV show I’ve ever seen.
My reading material is pretty much limited to oncology journals and books at this point. Lots to read!
I am fascinated by master carpenters and would love to learn woodworking. If I had to choose a line of work outside of medicine/science, I would probably try to become a carpenter.
The most recent hobby that I picked up is archery. I passed the bow hunting course up in Connecticut but have yet to actually get out there!
Leonardo Da Vinci – his genius and breadth of talent is astounding to me. I can’t fathom how productive he would be if he lived in modern times with instant access to endless information.
In the present day, I would like to meet Elon Musk. I think he will be viewed by history as a visionary of our time. He has the potential to truly change the world.
