Dr. John H. Heinzerling, a SERO radiation oncologist, recently had the opportunity to attend a leading conference for physicians involved in the management of breast cancer. This comprehensive two-and-a-half-day CME course in Florida offered the most recent updates on breast diseases, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment (of both benign and malignant conditions), managing high-risk patients, and survivorship care.
Dr. Heinzerling, alongside colleagues from Atrium Health’s Breast Cancer team in Concord, NC, joined a distinguished group of experts at the UF Multidisciplinary Symposium on Breast Disease. This event provided invaluable insights into all aspects of breast cancer care, with leading figures in surgical, medical, and radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, and patient advocacy sharing their expertise.
Joining Dr. Heinzerling were Drs. Laura Hudson, Meghan Steiner, and Alexandria Mara from the Levine Cancer Institute – NorthEast Radiation Therapy Center. Together, they engaged in discussions on diverse topics ranging from ethical considerations to cutting-edge clinical research. This diverse exchange of perspectives enriched the symposium and contributed to shaping the future of breast cancer care.
