Meet Wilson Brooks, MS, PA

At SERO, we’re focused on building a team of physicians and providers who have a breadth of knowledge that will ensure you’re getting the best possible treatment. To that end, we’d like to introduce the newest member of the SERO team, Physician Assistant Wilson Brooks.

Wilson Brooks joins us from Wake Forest Baptist Health’s Comprehensive Cancer Center, where he educated patients on the details of their clinical trials, obtained their informed consent, and mentored coworkers. While at Wake Forest, Brooks specialized in melanoma and immunotherapeutic trials and published a retrospective review of melanoma staging procedures.

Brooks received his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of South Carolina, his MS in Biochemistry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), and his dual BS in Biochemistry and Music from UNCG. Brooks was a teaching assistant at the UNCG Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, where he won “Outstanding Junior Graduate TA of the Year” for 2015 – 2016.

While studying under Dr. Nicholas Oberlies at UNCG, Brooks explored the creation of cancer drugs from fungi metabolites. His biochemistry background and clinical research on novel drug discovery make him an excellent addition to the SERO care team, where we focus on bringing patients the very best and most cutting-edge cancer treatments.

Brooks recently received training in Medication Assisted Therapy and obtained his AHA ACLS, BLS, and PALS Certifications in 2021. The SERO team is excited to welcome PA Wilson Brooks to our ranks.
