Meet Claire Wittlinger – SERO’s January 2023 Provider of the Month

We want to recognize one of our amazing staff members, Claire Wittlinger, a nurse practitioner at SERO. Get to know Claire and what she does when she’s not helping patients and their families.

I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY by incredible and hard-working parents. Go Bills! I have two brothers and a large extended family, many of whom are nurses.

My mom is a nurse in pediatric oncology going on 35+ years, my grandmother was an emergency room nurse for 42 years, and my little brother joined the profession last year. I have many other aunts and cousins who are nurses or nurse practitioners. You can imagine our holiday dinner conversations are pretty interesting! We are a fun group who care deeply about service to others.

My wonderful husband and I were high school sweethearts and have been married for four years. He works as a structural engineer in Charlotte.

In our free time, we enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and keeping busy outdoors. I’ve also recently grown to love baking!

I had the opportunity to travel to Fontaine, Haiti on a medical mission trip with the University of Buffalo Medical School. I learned from fellow students and experienced medical providers on how to diagnose and treat patients with limited medical resources in rural, poverty-stricken areas. It was an incredibly impactful experience!

My first job was working as a cashier at Wegmans, a large grocery store chain based out of Rochester, NY. If you’ve ever shopped at Wegmans you know how amazing they are! I worked my way into the maintenance, produce, and floral departments. It was a great first job that taught me the value of hard work and customer service skills.

I’ve been loving The Crown on Netflix. I also enjoy reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction books!
