Who We Treat
SERO’s radiation oncologists at Lake Norman Radiation Oncology Center offer comprehensive cancer care and compassionate support to patients in Iredell County. They effectively treat a variety of cancers – from lung cancer to brain tumors – using localized radiotherapy techniques.
Depending on a patient’s cancer type and stage, radiotherapy may be the only treatment modality needed. More often, however, radiation is partnered with another intervention like chemotherapy or surgery. As an adjuvant therapy, radiation is used after chemotherapy to kill remaining cancer cells. As a neoadjuvant therapy, radiation is used before chemotherapy to shrink cancerous lesions.
During your initial radiotherapy consultation, your provider will work with you and other medical professionals to determine an appropriate cancer treatment plan.
